Poliato is a guided policy and procedure management platform purpose-built for organizations pursuing CMMC certification. We replace the dominant status quo — folders of Word templates with placeholder brackets and no guidance — with a structured wizard that walks compliance managers through producing documentation that reflects their actual environment.
Why we built this
The CMMC compliance ecosystem ships defense contractors a folder of Word templates with bracketed placeholders, no guidance for filling them in, and no workflow for keeping them current. The result is documentation that's either too generic to survive an assessor's review, or so painstaking to author that it never gets updated again.
Poliato's approach is structural: a wizard that asks the questions first, then composes the document from CCA-authored content. The policies that come out reflect your environment — your cloud, your scope, your CUI handling — and are mapped to NIST 800-171 controls before you read them.
How we work with assessors
Core content is authored and validated by Certified CMMC Assessors. Where the platform makes claims about what assessors look for, those claims come from people who actually conduct C3PAO assessments. Our CCA partnership shapes the content, the audit-readiness dashboard, and the tabletop exercise scenarios.
Customers who prefer to engage a CCA for their assessment can work with one through Poliato — the platform is the shared workspace, not a parallel tool. Solo or with an assessor, the wizard and the audit-ready output are the same.
What Poliato is not
We are deliberately focused. Poliato is not a CUI enclave, not a broad GRC platform, not an evidence vault. We do policy and procedure work end-to-end — the wizard that writes them and the management layer that keeps them alive between assessments. Everything else stays out of scope. Customers keep their work
